Description for the Boise River, South ForkThe South Fork of the Boise River is one of the premier rainbow trout fisheries in Idaho. The main section flows from Anderson Ranch to Arrowrock Reservoir. The river is primarily surrounded by USDA timber. The rainbows average in the teens but every year fish over 20 inches are reported. Fishing begins in early June with salmonfly and stonefly hatches in June and transitions to hopper and ants as the fall begins.
