Description for the Coeur d'Alene RiverThe Coeur d'Alene River flows south through the Silver Valley before emptying into Coeur d'Alene Lake. The river is not one of Idaho's most well known trout streams, yet it offers beautiful scenery and active cutthroat dry fly fishing. Fishing picks up in early April and continues into October. The cutthroats average 9 to 12 inches, but cutts in the 20" range are not uncommon. There are a variety of hatches throughout the year so check the expert and angler reports to see what is working.
